Trophy Arctic Grizzly Hunt at Exclusive-Use Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, ANWR Area in Alaska 1067
Over the years this outfitter has taken some beautiful Arctic Grizzly in this "exclusive guide use area" within the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. This hunt is normally done with the Trophy Dall Sheep hunt as an add on species, but the outfitter has decided to offer it as a primary species hunt. The bears in this area have typically been in the 7'6" to 8'6" range. The have beautiful coloration ranging from the classic look to blonde bodies with dark legs, or even chocolate colored bears. These are true Arctic Grizzly, as they inhabit a region well away from the coastal areas of Alaska. Last year, the gentleman that was guided on this hunt saw 6 different grizzlies and harvested one on the 5th day of his hunt out of the spike camp. Over the season, they also harvested two other grizzlies out of the basecamp.
This hunt is conducted out of a temporary basecamp and while there is daily hiking involved, it's not nearly as physically demanding as the Trophy Dall Sheep hunt that is offered.
