True Magnum Elite Member, Wayne, has had back to back success at what now could be his favorite whitetail outfitter in the country. Below is a quick write up from Wayne after his most recent hunt with this outfitter!

"I am actually not sure I want to write about this hunt that True Magnum offers. It’s one of my favorite hunts I have done over the last two years, and I like it so much I just booked it through 2023. Chris Auch, at True Magnum, helped me find this hunt at Prairie King Ranch in Nebraska. It was the first hunt during rifle season, smack in the rut.

It’s not a tough hunt physically, but it is mentally. You have to try and keep up with all the good bucks running does up and down wooded bottoms. It’s harder than it sounds! Having five or six good bucks in one bottom is not uncommon, as is seeing 50 deer a day. And to top it off, posturing and dominance between bucks happens right before your eyes as does breeding, if you’re lucky. My problem with this hunt is I just can’t pass on old mature bucks.

Over the two years at Prairie King I have managed to hunt a total of two days, killing a 270 lb 9-point last year with a 38” neck, and a 5.5-year-old 9-point this year that weighed 240 lbs with a 32” neck. The camp is a classic farmhouse with good beds and great cooks. The old farmyard really sets the stage for this hunt, and as a Midwest boy who lives in the southeast, now it feels like going home."
