In Light of Coronavirus ONLY Purchase “Cancel for any Reason” Trip Insurance.

With the hunt booking season in full swing, the recent coronavirus pandemic has given our hunting community some serious talking points regarding their travel plans. No doubt there will be some people whom, due to their risk factors for the virus, will and should change their plans. I’m guessing that most of us, however, are going to continue traveling the globe as we always have done through travel emergency situations like 9/11, Y2K, SARS and the Bird Flu.
Given the recent coronavirus outbreak and corresponding potential travel issues, we are recommending that there is only one type of trip insurance coverage that you should be purchasing-that is “cancel for any reason” coverage. The “cancel for any reason” policy will handle many of the travel-related concerns caused by coronavirus including emergency medical expense coverage while abroad, trip interruption for any reason expense, travel delay and trip cancellation for any reason, which allows you to decide based on best practices at the time for you and your family whether or not to go on the trip. The “cancel for any reason” coverages are limited to 75% of your non-refundable expenses and you have to purchase the coverage within 20 days of booking the trip.
