Since Mountain Goats live in the mountains at higher, rockier and more treacherous elevations, it is highly recommended you are in good physical condition. This can be a challenging hunt and you are expected to pack your own gear while trekking around the mountainside in search of them. It is possible to hunt them at lower elevations, but to have a better chance at taking home a goat you need to be able to hike to higher elevations.
Although this hunt starts off at the main lodge, hunting will be done out of a spike camp with backpacking tents. Typical elevations are between 5000-7000 feet. Some hunting can be done at the valley bottom allowing for you to stay in the main lodge, but you should be prepared to stay on the mountain for your best chance at taking one of these animals. This outfitter's Mountain Goat hunting starts mid August and runs through mid October. They have a 75% success rate, but that does increase with your ability to hike to higher elevations where the goats live and feed.
You can combine this moose hunt with a Moose, Caribou, or Grizzly bear hunt for an additional fee.
You will need to fly into Smithers, B.C. and get on a charter flight that will take you into the hunting area.

- Charter flight fee into camp, $1,400
- Hunting Preservation Fund, $200 (applies to everyone coming into camp)
- License and tags
- 5% tax on hunt and charter

- Non-Hunters are welcome to accompany for $300 per day.
