Moose Hunt in British Columbia, Canada
Because of the prime moose habitat, there is a high population of them in the area. The bulls range from 40 to 50 inches. The outfitter offers an early and late season hunt, each with its own unique opportunities.
Hunting methods include, hunting in swamps, lakes, old burns, meadows, logged areas, and old timber growth. To access these areas they will either use jet boats, drift boats, canoes, ATVs, and/or 4x4's, as well as hiking. Retrieval of your moose might require it to be brought back to camp by either an ATV, horses, boats, or pack frames.
The early season moose hunts take place September 15th to October 15th. Moose respond well to call and are usually very active this time of year. There is an opportunity to add a Black Bear or Wolf hunt in the early season.
Late Season hunting takes place between October 26 to November 5th. It is not uncommon to have snow on the ground during late season making it easier to locate the moose. Moose are generally feeding on willows in logging areas, around lakes and in old burns. If you are hunting late season, there is an opportunity to add a Wolf hunt.
This outfitter does offer remote horseback trips a couple of times a year starting September 15th.
