The Good, The Bad & The Ugly Buck Hunt In Texas - 1184
This is a great opportunity for a last minute mule deer hunt. This is a fun contest that the whole family can enjoy. There can be up to four hunters in camp at one time, so doing this hunt with a group of friends or family works well. All bucks, good or bad, taken throughout the year will be put to vote by all hunters and guides that participated in the season. There will be three categories for winning this year. The first category is for a trophy buck or “The Good Buck”. The second category is for the best of the mid-class buck or “The Bad Buck”. Finally, the third class is for the ugliest buck in the group or “The Ugly Buck,” which is what this whole contest is all about.
This hunt is done mostly from vehicles, with final approaches on foot. There are parts of the ranch that have no road access, so there is the option to hike as much as desired. As far as rifles, bring what you are most comfortable shooting because shot distances rarely exceed 300 yards. You are also welcome to hunt with a muzzleloader, crossbow, and archery. Note that you must be skilled with archery and crossbow for this hunt, no beginners are allowed.
This hunt starts the first part of December and runs until January 10th, 2022; there is no hunting over Christmas. Date availability is on a first-come, first-serve basis. This is a 3-day hunt but additional days can be added if you are interested in adding a free-range Aoudad, or Javelina to your hunt. These are done on a trophy fee basis.
You will fly into and depart from El Paso, Texas.
