Desert Bighorn Sheep Hunt in Mainland Sonora, Mexico
This Desert Bighorn Sheep hunt takes place in Mainland Sonora, Mexico. It is a 10-day free range hunt. Most hunting is done on foot with some transportation done by truck or 4-wheeler to the hunting area. There is a lot of glassing on this hunt but once you spot a ram, the stalk will begin in an attempt to get within 200-250 yards, but come prepared to shoot at longer ranges if necessary. In past years, trophy rams ranging from 160" to 178" have been taken.
Safety is the main priority for this outfitter. From the time you arrive, during your hunt and up to your departure, their team will be in charge of making the hunt as accessible as possible to any client.
Most to the hunts are based in west African style tented camps with bathrooms, toilet, electricity and all the equipment and services necessary to keep you comfortable at camp. Keep in mind the use of spike camps during the final approach is very common and will not have all these amenities.
The desert bighorn sheep hunt runs from November through March. You should expect temperatures to run 28º-33º during the morning and 75º-95º through the day.
